Pictured here are an extraordinary pair of 12’x15’ mosaics titled Columbus Discovering America and Columbus Returning to Queen Isabella.

The Gruenke Foundation is working to preserve and showcase the masterworks.

These mosaics are under the stewardship of the Gruenke Foundation for the Arts, established in 1991 by three generations of the Gruenke family. At this time, the foundation is considering offers for placement in an appropriate community setting.

Conrad Schmitt Studios artisans clean and examine the mosaics to determine a treatment plan for conserving them.

The Gruenke Foundation is currently seeking donations for the restoration of the Columbus Mosaics and the betterment of the community through the promotion of art.  Thank You!
